Have you got a graphics program to edit your photos? I generally reduce photos for blogs to about 125 Kb, with very little loss of quality (unless you're going for art quality pics). Iphone photos tend to be way bigger (around 2 Mb) even though they are poor quality...

In those days and in that place cab driving was good. A cabbie also had to double/triple as a loan shark/bootlegger, and a cabbie who refused to get his hands dirty didn't last. Your Dad did OK at it. He worked construction before cab driving, but with the onset of cold weather (around about Labour Day) cab driving was the better option, it involved a heated workplace!

Hey Josh, If your in need of an internet connection, you could use your iphone as a data connection for your computer. I'm not sure exactly how it is set up on PC's but you should be able to plug the phone into your computer and turn "tethering" or "personal hotspot" on in settings/genneral/network. I found this to be handy to connect in remote locations. - Isaac

ahh just read the post before! all the best again! keep your chin up, it's not easy to do what you are doing, and in the beginning its a difficult route. but it's all worth it, i managed to get where i needed to be within 3.5 years! long time, but had some amazing times and experiences on the way which as you know are documented haha. but not all the photos are posted ;)

Wow, the I is for Intruder is a scary story! On many levels. I had an experience with the cops in which I was told that no charges would be laid, mostly because the cops knew it would be a waste of time, the case would go to court and there would be no consequences for the friggin' criminal, but would just be a waste of cops' time and taxpayers money. But it sure feels like a slap in the face when you're the victim of a criminal jerk like that.

In a way, the International Garbage is kind of like that too, eh? They make a law that sounds pretty good but is pretty much unenforceable.

Since I was in my early teens, I am a huge collector of RC planes and aviation magazines. Like you, I am fascinated with aircraft leading slats. I recently bought an a-4c. The slats are wonderful, it allows higher takeoff weights and slower landing speeds. I read in one of my magazine, these slats are first developed in 1918. Did you know that back then, it was rejected by Germans because they did not believe the possibility of increasing lift by dividing the wing?

Well, thanks to the advancement of technology, we are able to develop the different aircraft parts. I am so grateful that distributors and stockist undergo quality check control like the AS9120. In addition, AS9100 certification are now widely adopted to ensure quality and safety in the aviation industry.

I love russian aircraft.. i have only ever seen IL-76's up close, and a few antonov props. I saw an Tu-154 depart Dubai from a distance but that was the extent! would love to see one upclose, and an Il-62.

It kind of reminds me of the cars from the sixties. All kinds of bulges, scoops, spoilers, fins and other parts hanging off these older cars that made them look interesting. Now, they decide that is just extra weight and adds little to the efficiency of the car....and its gone.

I look at an A320 and I see a 2004 Ford Taurus. A 727 and I see a 69 Charger. What will an A320 look like to someone twenty years from now I wonder.

It's because I grew up in the '60s and '70s, but there's something about an airliner with four cans hanging off of the wings. B707, DC8 (especially the stretched -61 and -63) and the CV-880/CV-990 come to mind.

The IL-96 and the A-340 come close, but they just miss when it comes to the lines and grace of the old stuff. The A-380 is just too damn ugly to look at, it's size is what makes people stare.

We get an AN-124 overhead once in a great while, I have been inside one once, it is a massive airplane. We were out doing lawns one morning when one departed from an airport a couple miles away. It flew overhead, and was gone by the time I could grab my camera out of the rig. Whattaya gonna do?
